A teacher is a person provides knowledge, information or education for learners. This passing on of information can either be in a formal setting like a classroom or an informal setting like at home.

There are as many reasons just as they are varied why people choose teaching as a career.

Given that younger people are fresh and energetic, they are known to keep their teachers on toes so the teacher is also always fresh and energetic just to keep up with their students. This naturally preserves one and they age slower than their peers in other professions. So for those who fear aging and would love to be young forever, teaching should be the career of choice.

Teachers know a lot about the topics they teach more than anyone. After a certain period of teaching, guided by a lot of research in a particular subject, a teacher will automatically become a master of it, therefore one good way of mastering many topics is by becoming a teacher.

Teaching is the one job where you can have fresh humor daily. Teachers are exposed to almost all personalities in one given day and this almost guarantees that you will have at least something to laugh about each day. The students you teach may intentionally crack you up with a joke or sometimes unknowingly say something that turns out to be hilarious. This kind of job is good as it will help you laugh a lot and worry less about life’s struggles.

Teaching is one of the careers with the most leave days in the world. You are home when the students are home, well, we all know students cannot be in school all year round, they will be given some time to go and rest and so will the teacher. For the teachers with families and especially children they will most likely be at home on holiday together with their children and can engage in holiday activities together.

Very rarely will you hear people harboring ambitions of becoming teachers. In the recent past, teaching has not been associated with prestige, but if one is to look closely and truthfully, being a teacher is a lot more fun, interesting and rewarding than anyone cares to mention.
